Duffy and Others v Newcastle United Football Club Limited (Case Reference 2000 All ER D892):
BHP Sport successfully represented the premier league football club Newcastle United in a case which was a group action brought by the Club’s supporters arising out of the redevelopment of their St James’ Park stadium. The case was extremely high profile and was ultimately determined in Newcastle United’s favour at the Court of Appeal.
The Football Association v Emre Belozoglu:
BHP Sport represented the Turkish international Emre in connection with a charge (the first charge of its kind in British football).
Newcastle United Plc v HM Revenue & Customs and Commissioners (Case Reference 2007 All ER D398):
BHP Sport represented the premier league football club Newcastle United in th is leading tax case .
Daniel Gosling v Everton Football Club:
BHP Sport successfully represented Daniel Gosling, an England under 21 international player, who applied to a FA Premier League tribunal for a declaration that he was entitled to leave Everton FC on a free transfer. This case was probably the leading sports law case in England football in the Summer of 2010.
