Gary Bennett

Gary is a highly respected individual in the north east sports community having represented Sunderland for over 11 years making him one of the longest serving player at Sunderland Football Club.

Gary went on to manage and play for Darlington football club and was part of the team that lost in the playoffs final 1999-2000 season. Gary\'s achievements include reaching the FA cup final, League cup final, and becoming Captain for 5 years at Sunderland Football Club.

Gary now broadcasts for BBC radio covering all Sunderland matches and is an ambassador for the city as well as a leading figure in the \'Show racism the red card\' - A campaign against racism in football and society.
